In the Al Quds (Jerusalem) newspaper, there is a section called ‘Al Quds twenty years ago’, with a picture of the paper’s front page from two decades prior. Reading this news today, it seems as if it wasn’t twenty years ago. The same topics are discussed in political loops: peace talks, prisoners, Jerusalem and refugees. Clearly, there is a need for change.

As the artist who makes these bowls, Ahmad Nassar, says: “We are tired of the same news we receive every day, about the settlements, the Apartheid Wall, the right to return, the prisoners. Final solutions and agreements that have never been implemented become news like waves that drown us. Personally, I have not been following the news or reading the newspapers for a while now. What I do with them might be more useful. I make bowls out of them.”
